Supporting UCP: Book Bud Program and Lake Scary 5K Donation

Lake Mary Preparatory School proudly recognizes Natalie Smith and Anika Sathish for their recent participation in the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Florida Book Bud program. Through this initiative, both students engaged with UCP’s students by reading to them and fostering meaningful connections that exemplify leadership, service, and compassion.

In addition to their involvement in the Book Bud program, Smith and Sathish presented a donation check totaling $15,689.70 to UCP. This contribution represents the proceeds from the Lake Scary 5K, an annual event hosted by Lake Mary Preparatory School during the fall semester.

The funds will directly support UCP’s mission to Unlock Children’s Potential, advancing programs and services that benefit children with and without disabilities across Central Florida.

This effort reflects Lake Mary Prep’s deep commitment to cultivating civic responsibility and encouraging students to contribute meaningfully to their community. The success of the Lake Scary 5K, combined with the engagement of students in programs like Book Bud, demonstrates the powerful impact that collaboration, service, and education can achieve together.

Lake Mary Prep extends sincere appreciation to all students, faculty, families, and community members who contributed to the success of the Lake Scary 5K and this meaningful partnership with UCP.
